- I am a National Home Improvement Council Journalist of the Year, and in 2008, I won an award for Services to the Design Industry from The Designer magazine
- I am on the selection panel for 100% Design and chair of the Homes & Gardens Classic Design Awards
- I live in London and have four daughters and ten grandchildren

Hello Barbara. Last week, on page 15 of the Nov 11 H&P there was a photo of a chrome/silver sofa: details were given of the digitex mural as you were writting on PopLife, but I am more interested in finding out the designer/cost/where-to-buy of the sofa. Can you help? Thank you

Dear Barbara
We met some years ago when you interviewed me after my practice had won Concept House 99 with Slim House. I remember visiting you and your husband at your house near Acton Park. You mentioned you had lived at The Ryde in Hatfield. It was the first I had heard about that wonderful project. I would be very interested to talk to you again about The Ryde as I am starting work on the design of a housing project in Kent which could fruitfully use The Ryde as a starting point.
